Exhibited in “Let’s Call for Arts for Afghanistan” curated by Tramandars at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Rome.
“This work is about me and my perception of a tragic situation, from the point of view of someone who is unaware of the history and the current circumstances of the country.
The flag represents the abstract notion of a people, but alludes to the institusions that governs it, rather than the humanity of its members.
Therefore, I created a flag using t-shirts in the colors of the Afghanistan’s flag.
The t-shirts brings me closer to the people behind the institutions.
The flag is held up in precarious balance by a chair and a sack of powdered putty working as counterweights; it refers to the unstable situation in the Country and at the Embassy”

“Con quest’opera racconto di me e di cosa percepisco riguardo a una situazione drammatica di cui vedo quel che può vedere un ignaro della storia di un paese e di ciò che succede davvero lì.
Ho ragionato sulla bandiera come astrazione di un popolo che però ci rimanda più facilmente alle istituzioni che lo governano piuttosto che all’umanità delle persone che lo costituiscono.
Quindi ho fatto una bandiera con t-shirt dei colori dell’Afghanistan: la t-shirt mi riavvicina all’umanità che sta dietro all’astrazione istituzionale.
La bandiera è sorretta in equilibrio precario da una sedia e un sacco di calce che fa da contrappeso e mi parla di una situazione instabile sia del paese sia di chi sta all’ambasciata”
