–
Gian Maria Marcaccini is alumni of Alberto Garutti and Joseph Kosuth and studied contemporary art with prominent critics, art historians, curators and semioticians (such as Renato Barilli, Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, Angela Vettese and Omar Calabrese) at the D.A.M.S. and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, at the Brera’s Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, at the Barnett College in London and at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti for Contemporary Arts in Como.
He was still a student when he first gained recognition by important art magazines such as Flash Art and collectors such as Intesa Sampaolo.
The artist produced in many visual art fields including installations, video art, sculpture, painting and photography.
After a period of time in which he focused mostly on visual design and communication strategy, that he studied at the European Institute of Design in Rome, he returned to paintings and installations and his works are now part of italian and foreign collections.
